The short answer
A few friends, a good card, and a table within reach of the couch. That is most of fight night sorted. Order pizza or make sliders, put artichoke dip beside a pile of sturdy chips, and slice a few peppers. Get the food ready before the first bout so you can sit down with everyone else.
Start with a table people can actually eat from
Pizza, sliders, or wings make an easy starting point. Choose whichever your friends get excited about, then build the rest of the table around it.
Cut sandwiches into smaller pieces and put the dip somewhere everyone can reach. A side table near the couch saves people from wandering into the kitchen right when something happens.
A shopping list for a few friends
Ask who is coming and what they are bringing, then fill in the gaps. If fight night is also dinner, order an extra pizza or make another tray of sliders. Here is an easy list to take to the shop:
- Pizza, sliders, sandwiches, or wings for the hungry arrivals.
- Artichoke dip and a second favorite if you want a choice.
- Sturdy chips or crackers, plus sliced bell peppers or carrot sticks.
- Grapes or another easy handful of fruit.
- Drinks, napkins, small plates, and a serving spoon for each shared bowl.
Build a low-mess spread
Thick chips and little pieces of toasted bread make good scoops. Pepper strips bring a different crunch. Put a spoon in the dip so people can take some back to their seat.
Keep napkins beside the wings and give drinks their own spot. That leaves room for plates and fewer opportunities to knock over someone's glass while reaching for a chip.
Let your friends bring something
When someone asks what to bring, give them an answer: drinks, chips, or something sweet for later. You handle the dip and the main food; they get to turn up with something useful.
Send a quick message with the food plan and when you are starting. It is easier to split the shopping before everyone arrives with the same bag of chips.
Get yourself a seat, too
Slice the vegetables, find the bottle opener, and set out the plates before people arrive. Once the food is on the table, make yourself a plate and join your friends. You invited everyone over to watch together.
